Uzbekistan changed their secured transactions law by introducing a legal reform into their civil code through a decree in 2018. A law was later enacted in 2019 to solidify this amendment, among others. This reform was based upon the UNCITRAL model law, and was developed with support from the International Finance Corporation. They also established a collateral registry, that is ran by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. This is critical for improving access for farmers and smaller businesses
